£600-£700 for gaming please

hi,

my mate has asked me to build him a pc, for about 600-700 quid
he has a motherboard, screen, and hdd.

The motherboard is a supermicro C7X58, which i hear you cant overclock on?

either a spec with that motherboard or with a different one will be appreciated, i do not know which would be better :confused:

If he doesn't want a blu-ray drive, you could swap the i5 for the i7 2.66GHz for about the same price.

the c7x58 is a 1366 socket i think

If you want to use that motherboard then:

If not, then get the i5 750, with the MSI GD65, as its good at overclocking.

(oh and get dual channel memory for 1156 socket.)

i think its going to be easier to go down the route with a different motherboard as there are many complications that i have just found with the c7x58 (no overclocking, needs 8 pin plus 4 pin power etc.) so any revised specs?
