Hi all, Im new to the forum and just after a little help.

I have £600-£700 to spend no more, need to upgrade

I need: Motherbord, Cpu, Vid card (Nvidia pci e only), Ram (2gig), Case+Psu

So far was thinking this motherboard and Cpu

^ Thats about £410, only leaves me £290!

Any help well be good thanx.

If I were to go with amx's first choice, I'd swap in an Opteron 165 providing you wanted an Expert for a reason none other than to overclock. The extra 1MB of cache would be beneficial too.

The budget of £700 is too tight to want a dual core and a top of the range motherboard in place. :) Go with something similar to what amx suggested.

ok thanx for the help, just got this lot for now:

£129.95 x 1 - DFI LanParty NF4 SLI-DR EXPERT (Socket 939) PCI-Express
Motherboard (MB-018-DF)

£63.00 x 1 - Thermaltake VA3000BWA Tsunami Dream SuperMidi Aluminium Tower -
Black (CA-010-TT)

£45.95 x 1 - Akasa Ultra Quiet 460W Paxpower Active PFC ATX2.0 PSU - Black
Nickel with Blue LED Fan (CA-004-AK)

£129.95 x 1 - G.Skill 2GB DDR ZX PC3200 (2x1GB) CAS2 Dual Channel Kit
(F1-3200PHU2-2GBZX) (MY-007-GS)

£6.95 x 1 - Akasa Dual UV Cold Cathodes 1 Inverter (CA-008-AK)

Will get a vid card and cpu next month and spend a little more! :)
