Hi all,

I'm looking to spec a gaming PC, budget is £600 - £800 max.

It doesn't need to include a monitor or Windows / OS but every thing else is required.

Advice would be greatly appreciated. :)

Thanks in advance!

Both CPUs comes with stock cooler which has pre applied thermal paste :)
Edit i like snips86x best

The Gigabyte B450 suggested above has weak VRM's, there's much better options within the price range. Pretty much any of the MSI MAX boards will be superior for a similar (or cheaper) price.

The Kolink PSU suggested by the same user is garbage also, even the best PSU's from Kolink are average at best and have crap warranties. That is one of the lower end units, do not trust it in your system.

Thanks for the information, would you care to suggest a build based on your expertise? :)

Here's my take on it. Went with a Mirco-ATX build just because, why not? usually the space is just wasted.

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £793.60 (includes shipping: £11.70)

Just whack on what ever PSU, couldn't find a decently priced one that was good enough to please the critics on here. ;)

@Journey put a build together that's pretty much identical to what I would probably have suggested, although he hasn't factored in a PSU. Maybe drop the GPU down to a 5700 or 2060 depending on vendor preference to allow the budget for one if you can't stretch.

Something like the following:

The Coolermaster unit is more of a budget option, but it is a decent PSU with a five year warranty which is semi modular, so it should look a bit cleaner in a windowed build.

The Bitfenix Formula Gold is a higher quality PSU with the same warranty length, I use a 650w version of the unit myself and I'd highly recommend it. The only concern is that it is fully wired and the wires are long and a little unwieldy, depending on how confident you are in cable management it might not look the best in a windowed case.

OCUK don't have a lot of well priced options PSU wise atm, during black Friday they had some cracking sales going. We might see some good offers closer to Christmas, but honestly it might be an idea to shop elsewhere for a decent power supply.

The reason I pushed the RX 5700 XT is due to how much faster it is than the RTX 2060 (non-S), in a game like Shadow of the Tomb Raider (1440p-highest) the 2060 has lows of <50fps, and the average on the RX 5700 XT is about 23% faster. Obviously that is only one example, but I make it because it is such an investment to get a more capable card that may last 12-18 months longer before requiring upgrade, vs the RTX 2060.

I would agree about looking around for a decent PSU, I just picked up a refurb (with full 7 warranty) EVGA SuperNOVA G3 650w for £40!

Yeah, I totally agree that it's worth the extra £50 for the performance jump.

Personally speaking I think buying a 2060 would leave a bad taste in my mouth. You're paying a premium for a feature the card isn't really strong enough to make proper use of, and it's so awkwardly priced compared to better cards from both teams.
