£600 Base Unit Spec Please

Hi guys, I'm helping a friend buy a new base unit. I'm a little out of the loop with the latest bargains and I was hoping one of your nice people could help us out.

He has all his peripherals, a screen and a hard disk. He needs everything else though. Main use will be gaming. His HDD is PATA rather than SATA, so a new one might not be a good idea, but the extra cash could be better utilised on other components I think.

Thanks for the input guys, I think he'd be tempted to get a less flashy case such as the Lian Li PC7+ and get a faster CPU. Could also save on the optical drive, but if he doesn't have a DVD writer, it's a damn good time to be buying one.

could get a cheaper mobo and get a new hard disk with the difference or put it towards a 6750/8400 processor.

case is pretty decent so would go with that tbh.
