Im looking to get a new pc when i get back from the US. Can anyone spec me a pc, good speced. Monitor, speakers, mouse keyboard, the works. Im mainly a gamer but i do need good storage. I would rather a core duo rig but if this is not possible, a amd rig is not out of the question. It would have to be below 600 with delivery or just over 600, maybe 605 with delivery

I don't know too much about 8600GTs although some overclocking should be possible. This system fits into budget including a copy of Vista although no speakers, just use a set of earphones for now. :)

Either should handle the games basically although at what detail levels I'm not 100% sure however I would pick the 430w case and I'd stick with the Hitachi over the Maxtor as Maxtor have had a few reliability problems recently although they are not all bad. I don't know if you need the DVI cable or not, maybe worth checking with OcUK as it saves a fair bit of money and you could then perhaps upgrade the graphics card. The below system should be a better overall system since you have got a copy of Vista already. :)

//edit if you want to game then you will probably need to spend almost all of the £600. The AM2 system isn't inherantly bad but Core2Duo is better.

well as a gamer, i want to run as high as i can i guess, although i like the look of the rig you speced

edit:: yeah you need the dvi cable as the graphics card is dual dvi and for some reason according to the reviews, the han's dont ship with a dvi cable

that would add 30 to the price.. I guess ill see what rig im having once ill get back. Althought right now budget wise, its either save 100 and go with am2, or spend the 130 and get the core duo. Admittly, if i can afford it, ill get the 630 one

used to yes, not anymore it seems. doesnt matter anyway, ill probably end up getting a long term loan and get a better pc, im sure i could get a good one for 1000
That'll be your best bet tbh. DX10 card and better upgradability (IE - case and PSU).
