Hey guys, friend has asked me to put together a medium range gaming pc for him, his budget is £600, doesn't require monitor, any peripherals or O/S just hardware/case.

I have already put a cart together but wanted to see what recommendations the experts on here would have for this budget and maybe change some things.

Forgot to say Intel for cpu

cheers :)

I apologise mate, my bad I was late in adding an Intel only preference to my post sorry :( but other than the CPU your builds make some nice suggestions on hard drives and gfx :)

£608.87 without shipping. Similar to what the others suggested. But I'd definitely exclude the SSD and leave it for a later upgrade, at this pricepoint. Having a 280X and FX-8320 is definitely worth it over 280 / SSD / FX63xx.

Edit, I don't know how to format it :'(

That board is no good for that CPU as it has no VRM cooling. AM3+ boards without VRM cooling tend to throttle the CPU when the going gets tough.
