£600 build for sons xmas.

Hi OCUK,

I would like to build a PC for my son for xmas and have managed to squeeze santa'ess for a budget of £600

Now this is for the whole shooting match.....monitor, chassis, psu, ram, hardrive, gfx card and all the goodies that goes within.

Keyboard and mouse is the only starting point I can give him :D

The games he loves are civilization and football manager.

What can you do for me with whats available?

Cant see the thread, although I do feel I could inherit someone else's problems or have a well worked machine.

At least with new, you have protection and warranty should worse case scenario happen....2nd hand will be sold as seen and if it broke after a week there is not much I could do about it.

Yeah i can build it myself if required, that wont be a problem and operating system he can have my windows 7 as I went to 8 which I regret buying.....I dont like change :/

It wasnt that you trying to sell something yourself, it was the suggestion itself.

The only place 2nd hand PC parts are bought and sold is in the MM.

Think Stulids build is good for sub £600.

6300 CPU is a cracking bang for buck processor. Plays some of the new top end titles well.

If you want to drop the DVD drive spend the extra on a better GPU if you can for that sort of money.

Im trying to come up with a budget build I can make for my other half for under £600 for Christmas as well. I came up with very similar to you apart from didn't need a monitor so added in an ssd and an aftermarket CPU cooler. I think its probably the best bang for buck at the minute. Although I had a different PSU as it was on offer the EVGA 500Watt @ £39.95
