I3 went for lower priced one as it will do the job, and can't imagine the 3225 giving his gaming a massive boost for extra 20 quid? Also said in a year or so should be able to pickup a cheap I5 as a good upgrade option when its needed.

motherboard , will do the trick and he won't be dueling cards any time in future.

RAM, anyone suggest if any around same price is slightly better?

graphics card, 760 for £203 seems good? or should i go for a 670 as stats on anand tend to favour 670 in most occasions? (he wont be overclocking card)

case, he picked as he likes it

power supply , looks good for the price! and modular.

Anything anyone would change?

cheers all

RAM has slightly better timings. I know he said he wouldn't OC the GPU but these limited edition 7870s are Tahiti cores so do OC to trade blows with stock 7950s. Maybe that saving brings the i5K into reach? Then he just needs to worry about a cooler as an upgrade, rather than change the CPU he can eye up an SSD perhaps?

Best of luck with the build bud :)

That's fine if he doesn't mind the upgrade to an i5 later, as the i3 will struggle in some games and probably almost all upcoming ones.

Thanks for build Hono, really good suggestion. I'll throw it at him as i could overclock the gpu for him.

After another chat he has said he would stretch further for the i5, so im thinking 670 + I5 and change ram to black mamba.

But will need to change this to haswell now? :D

im out in a minute guys so if anyone can throw some haswell motherboards out way that are good sub £100 would appreciate it. and ill check back later.

I'm not suggesting the 670 is a bad choice it was a £300+ GPU till the 770 landed, we used to spec 7950s as an alternative as they were cheaper. With the 7870LE being cheaper it might bring the i5K into reach now but if it's a strict £600 budget then that's never going to happen.

Just seen your reply fella. Haswell is gonna bump the cost up and Ivy isn't really to be sniffed at but it's his cash his rules. This HD3 won't clock as well as the D3HP but it's not a bad mobo and is sub £100. If you add the 670 the price is going to be higher still though obviously. I'd ideally want to use a faster RAM kit on Haswell too but you have to balance things out best you can.

All the best fella, look forward to seeing what you guys settle on
