Hi, this is my attempt at a £600 gaming pc. Can someone check it over? I've gone off what people have said on the forums, but I don't know if all the components suit each other. Also can anyone help me bring down the price a little? Thanks! :)

Few small things, OC2 isn't worth the money. Its all the same hardware, manually clock it yourself if you really need to. But you don't, not with a 8800 :D

The DS3P is 1333MHz FSB rather than the DS3's 1066MHz + it has an improved BIOS.

Please Note: The ballistix PC5300 RAM is a much much better overclocker, i've clocked it to 1000MHz from 667 at stock with ease. If your looking for a good overclock then go for this http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-088-CR its definitely worth it if your ocing.

Thanks for the quick response! I love these forums sometimes. What sort of overclock do you think i could get if I went with the ballistix? And how will this set-up compare with my current p4 2.8ghz 6800gt? (It'll be faster im hoping ;))

Anything from 3.2 - 3.4ghz with decent cooler but i would get a E6420 with 4mb cache and they clock to atleast 3.2ghz and go upto 3.8ghz.

I've got the Ballistix to 1050MHz at voltage +0.05 stable after 24hr orthos. Its amazing stuff.

Major difference between your current system. Massive :)

:D couple more questions: if I was to go quadcore or get a gtx and maybe add another hard drive in the future would that PSU be up to it? Or I would I do better to spend more now for the 620W version? Thanks!

Yep, no problem. I might change the hard disk to a Seagate or Samsung one, but otherwise Jaffa_Cake spec for the win.

i have 4 of them drives now and they are silent and are realy quick

they are also on this week only
