Hey all,

I'm looking some advice re a new build.

I've got a £610 budget max and I'm looking to build a new system for some gaming and a bit of 3d modeling. Note the system isn't for me

Don't need to include any peripherals or an OS. I've been struggling making any builds I'm coming up with fit in the budget.

Currently looking at this plus a second hand GPU

No need for a 600w PSU - a quality 550w from Superflower would be a better buy and will be plenty powerful enough for a single GPU system.

Oh, and the rest of the build looks fine to me.

That's a fairly decent system, however if you're gaming you'll need a graphics card. Unless you've already got one that is.

A quality 550W PSU would be better as Ted has suggested. A Superflower HX550W or Antec Truepower Classic 550W unit will be cheaper, more efficient and output the same power on the 12V rail.

Yes that's a fairly decent system. I understand you said that you are looking at getting a second hand graphics card but I've added an ideal one in anyway hence why it may be a bit over budget. Have a look at my basket below, I went with the Asus 970 Strix it's a great card and will do you well. Good choice of case, many of the cheap cases come with just one fan, but the BitFenix fan comes with 2 x 120mm intake and 1 x 120mm exhaust so you won't need to worry about fans. Have a look at my basket below and see what you think, I have made some changes. Taking away the graphics card would make the system come to £542.92. This is slight more than your original basket because I chose a 2TB HHD instead of the 1TB for the price you're better off paying a little extra for an addition 1TB storage.

^ +1 Corsair CX power supplies aren't very good, as said go for a superflower or an evga one (rebranded superflower)

gilljoy I've just noticed that the case selected would not be able to accommodate the CPU cooler that is provided in the bundle. The Alpenfoehn Brocken cooler has a height of 165mm and the case only allows for heatsinks up to 160mm. You could go for something like the In Win 703 Midi Tower or Enthoo Pro M which can accommodate that cooler. If you don't like any of them cases have a look at some other, but they must be able to fit the cooler height which is 165mm.

Here you go mate, changed the case. Found quite a nice Kolink one it's better than the BitFenix case selected previously because it's comes with more fans installed. It has 2 x 120mm Fans (Red LED) as intake on the front and a single 120mm at the rear as exhaust so you won't have to worry about getting more fans and most important it allows for cooler up to 170mm meaning it will accommodate the one in the bundle. I also left the card out as you said you are looking into getting a second hand one. Cheers.
