Hi, I was wondering if you could give me some help building a £600 gaming PC. I have been attempting to do so myself but my knowledge seems to be rather lacking when working out the best combination for the money.

I'm looking to use it on a ranger of games but mostly RPG's (e.g. Skyrim) and strategy games (e.g. starcraft 2), though FPS's are most certainly also on the cards.

I don't need a monitor or Keyboard but it does look like I will be needing an OS (I was hoping to use the one from my broken laptop but sadly the key has been lost).

I'm hoping to be able to purchase the parts around the 21st (is timing is a consideration for any prices).

Thank you in advance for any help you can give.

Regards
Jonny

OS is a problem :'( I'll do one with and one without.

And yes, buying in about two weeks means the deals will change and you might get better deals, save a few quids, or not (the 6950?). But the general idea should remain.

You can also of course, shop around.

Thank you for doing both, that's great! I agree that needing an OS is rather inhibiting for the budget.

Sadly that has rubbed off, I'm going to try some other methods of getting it but I'm not too hopeful :(

If its one that has come with the laptop they are generally OEM keys. So they basically can only be used to restore the laptop and not transferred onto another system. Sorry to say but I think you will need to buy a new one.
