Ok heres the deal, £600 budget, no peripherals, just the tower and stuff to go in + windows 7.
Minor condition, has to be centered around a 6850 (crossfire support if possible but thats just a bonus if spare change). One question is £600 enough to get a correspondingly powerful CPU with that GPU or will I not have to go that high end?

But if you really must have a 6850 crossfire setup.

Motherboard has all the new features such as SATA and USB3.0

Spend slightly more for a 1TB disk and a better PSU. :p

Seeing as Stulid's being a noob, and I'm 99% sure you already have one 6850 - hence the want for a second with Xfire... If you wanted to cut back you could just use your current 300 Case.

Also, use your MSDNA for W7 and we could create a better rig :p

Made a couple of small changes to Stulid's, slightly higher cost, but for you, the f3 will probably be needed, and I figure you could probably sell MOH off to retain some of the cost. Although also would be surprised if you didn't have a few hard drives lying around!

Doesnt need it does it!!! and SATA and USB3.0 are useful:p

True could get by with 530W on crossfire, however with everything OCed you'd be using 430W+ and I always like to have a bit more of a buffer than that on my PSUs (especially to account for capacitor aging etc.)

using anandtechs i7 system.

Its for a mate of mine, he's seen the 6850 and basically is happy with it so i thought why not have a spec around it for starters as its not a bad card. I Initially thought of pairing it with an amd 955, but wanted a few second opinions.

Also. Yes i know i need to upgrade my system :(:(:( *Crys in corner petting his crappy dual core*

But all you need for yours is a quad core and overclock the bitch.

Will be getting a 2500k soon hopfully, works out nicely for me to buy new mobo/cpu/ram and sell my current stuff to my sisters, as they'ed really like something a bit better than a single core 2.4ghz celeron from 8 years ago that makes my netbook look like a super computer :D off setting costs i think i'm looking at ~£150 for a sandybridge setup, which imo is well worth it

inb4 scamming sisters :D:D:D (i'm not really :P)
