Hi,
I appreciate its a bit of a lottery but I'm wondering if the higher end 69xx series cards will decrease in price upon to release of the 7970, or will it simply sit above the 69xx's in terms of price and performance?

I'm just wondering if/how long i wait until picking one of these up.

Thanks

Nope.

Were on last stocks now and the 6970's are bargains and looks like they will not go any lower.

Bear in mind 7950 and 7970 are at higher prices, the 69xx shall remain until March/April. :)

Well there are quite a few discounted models in the US going for $260 at big e-tailers.

I would imagine that around £259 is the best you'll get these cards for before they disappear completely (unless you go second hand once 78xx/79xx hit the market).

Of course there might be some stock clearing in the weeks after launch but I doubt it will be much since the cards are still in high demand.

Radeon 6950s are $255+ which would account for £199 prices in the UK so go figure.

I can't believe you could get Twin Frozr III cards for £175 not long ago.
