Looks like one is an import and one isn't. Didn't read to closely, but the rebel/kiss is the American/japanese model, and the 600d is our version. Obv that affects warranty

As for the bag, I suggest this beast here

Failing that, I have a cheap little lowepro altus 160 (or the 120 is the smaller version for just the camera, without space for spare lenses) that does the job well and keeps the budget low.

It's worth getting a decent tripod if you plan on doing macro/landscape work especially. There are a few threads about the red snapper ones that everyone seems to rate.

Have you used that website above? Are they good?

Depends, for casual user looking to replace a point and shoot for holiday snaps, it would be a good upgrade.

If you suspect you might delve deeper in learning photography, then personally I would least look at an option without the kit lens due to the variable aperture and maximum aperture.

I would look at a 2.8 zoom or a 35mm prime.

As for camera, I would look at a used 5D mki, although if you insist on a new cam, a D5100 or a D7000 with a 35mm 1.8G lens.

Have you tried going second hand?

Most bodies are built like tanks, but the good ol' magnesium alloy. Phoar!

You could pick up a 40D and a plethora of lenses for your budget.

I second a second hand body, you can get them quite cheap and in very good condition. Ive bought a second hand d700 with grip for 1350.
