Hey, so I recently started looking to build up my own rig and purchased a few components, mainly an Intel i5 3750k and a half decent case.

I did have around £800 to spend when I purchased the processor, but unfortunately due to life being a dick I have had to drop that price quite a bit and haven't had time to do the research myself.

So I have around £400 to spend on the rest of the items, what would you guys recommend?

Hello and welcome. For self builds you'll want to move the thread to general hardware.

Can you list the things you've got? Other than the case and CPU.

Is it for gaming? Do you need an OS? Monitor?

It would be for gaming yeah.

I have the peripherals, a monitor and have Windows 7, so its really just the other internal components i'm looking for.

YOUR BASKET
1 x VTX3D HD 7870 Black Boost Edition 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £155.99
1 x Gigabyte Z77-D3H Intel Z77 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard £89.99
1 x BeQuiet Pure Power L7 530W '80 Plus' Power Supply £55.99
1 x Patriot Intel Extreme Masters 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (PVI38G160C9K) £49.99
1 x Silverstone Argon SST-AR01 CPU Cooler - 120mm £28.99
Total : £392.95 (includes shipping : £10.00).

You could spend less by getting a Z68 board instead. If you want SLI in the future you'd need to spend a little more on the board and get a higher powered PSU, but it's taking you over budget.
