Hello all,

In a few months my PC will be 3 years old, purchased through OCUK and using their custom build service.

Corsair graphite 600T case
Asus Z77 Sabertooth motherboard
i7-3770K 3.50HGz (overclocked to 4.2 I believe)
16GB 1866MHz RAM
KFA2 GTX 680 EX OC
950W PSU
Intel CPU liquid cooler

The build itself has performed very well over this time, I had an issue at the beginning with the computer detecting only the SSD and not the HDD. OCUK support gave me exact instructions on how to fix this. I use the HDD for storage and the computer does pause for a moment when I access it manually, but other than that it's fine. I had some issue with the RAM last year but that was fixed by OCUK very quickly.

Obviously a few years on with some more knowledge and I could have made some different choices back then. Currently I want to make some upgrades for the following reasons -

680 is running very hot whilst gaming, lately it's hitting top 80's to 90's in WOW and other games which the card has handled fine, 34 idle . I have been running Afterburner for a while and also made sure the card is clean. I waited around for the Fury X but it didn't exactly surprise me, so the big question now is whether I go for a 290x/980/980ti or a regular Fury (depending on how they turn out and pricing).

The ceiling fan died a bit ago, I purchased a replacement but it turns out that my case allows for 20mm depth fans. The Coolermaster Megaglow I purchased is 30mm, so my idea is to move the lower drive bay back so I can install it at the front. For the top fan I can't fit two 120mm fans due to the liquid cooler radiator so I'll have to go with a strict 200m - 20mm depth fan which from looking around are not exactly amazing compared to the 25mm or 30mm models.

(The case is spacious and great but the 20mm depth fan limit on the top is very frustrating)

The CPU is running near 80c under load and 40c idle. The radiator is attached to the rear 120mm position and has a push/pull setup. It's all clean but I wonder if the thermal paste needs to be reapplied. I'd like to upgrade looking forward. The H80i along with buying a better 120mm SP on either push or pull seems appealing after doing some reading around.

- Any recommendations for 200m fans with a depth of 20mm would be very welcomed

- Recommendations for a 120mm CPU cooler

I currently have the windowed side panel on, it comes with an optional mesh which can house 4*120mm fans. Reading around people have mixed views on doing anything with this, the ones that did, have those fans pulling air in and cover the GPU(s).

Thank you for reading.

I had one of those cases and mounted the fans in the top under the grill and the rad inside my case and I could fit normal 120mm fans in that way.

Have you tried mounting your rad that way? Will make upgrading your fans a lot easier.

Thank you for the response.

The Intel cooler is a single 120mm radiator, so that's on the rear case position. Regarding the top under the removable grill, I could mount two 120mm fans but I have to ask. They would be pulling air out of the case through one grill, into the fan and then out of another grill. Would this be a wasted effort or still effective if you're not using a liquid coolers radiator on the top ? rather than having a single 200mm fan with 20mm depth that might not be all that great in performance in the case and not wedged between the two grills ?
