I had a broken latch on the side door of my 600t and I asked Corsair for a replacement. They went above and beyond and sent me an entirely new side door!!!:D

Yet another reason I'll stay loyal to Corsair - truly amazing customer service.

Anyway....the reason for this thread is that I now have a spare side door for my case and I was going to do a bit of modding to it...to dip my toe into the modding scene if you like. Nothing mental but I fancy seeing what my case would look like with a modded side window.

I was thinking something like this http://imgur.com/a/DxaSf

But I have a couple of questions.

Can someone tell me what U-Channel is? Is it something to hide the edges after cutting?

Also did he use normal acrylic (spelling) for the window? If so is it a good option to try or is there a better material I can use to cut a window?

Hey man, great to here you want to get into case modding.

In terms of U-Channel it is a strip of rubber that can be slid over the edge of the cut metal. It both helps create a seal against the window and tidies up the cut edge.

For your window a sheet of acrylic will be fine. OCUK actually stock this now for convenience if you can't find a local plastics company.

If you haven't seen it already this is worth checking out. And I highly recommend using either scotch 233 making tape or painters tape when cutting.
