Hi,

I just started playing Gears of War 4 on my PC and running the benchmarks I found that I can have a solid 60FPS if I play on medium or if I jump to High it averages around 50-55FPS.

I was just wondering I know that 60FPS you notice a great difference from 30FPS but how does that work with 55FPS. Does it need to hit that 60 mark to notice the difference and receive that smooth gameplay motion?

The monitor is a 60hertz.

Thanks

Personal preference, I don't notice any difference between a steady 60fps and a steady 30fps, but I do notice difference between steady 30fps and FPS bouncing between 55-65fps for example

Putting it onto high during game I did feel movement was a little choppy.. but on the medium it was smooth.

Guess I will just keep it on that then.

Not sure about gears of war 4 but maybe there are some gfx options you can set on high and some you keep on medium, ow wait bro you need to upgrade that gfx card, vega here soon, just sayin :)

I think with VSync ON it would actually drop the FPS to 45 or 30 fps wouldn't it (even though it shows 55), which might explain it not feeling so good? especially if it was moving between 55 and 60 as 55 fps would drop to 45 or 30 fps and 60 would be at 60.

That made sense in my head...

customise the settings to suit you and hit 60 fps.

for example shadows can be turned to low in a lot of games with no real detrimental effect to graphics but a major boost in speed.
