60GB Migration Kit

Saw this mentioned in another thread, I tried one from a 120GB but it won't start the migration until it sees a 120GB drive!

So that leaves me having to copy stuff to memory card then back to the HDD which is all fine and well until saves like Viva Pinata which cannot be moved!

How do I get hold of the 60GB transfer disc?

MS will send you one FOC. Just phone up and ask for one

I phoned up and she said to go the xbox.com website and do it there, but I can't see where she means.

I phoned up and the guy ordered it for me. There is no option on the website for 60GB HDD's, only 120GB.

Click on that, download/print off the form, cross out where it says "elite" etc and put "Pro 60gb" fill in all the details and send it off to the address on the form.

I did this when I bought a 60gb Pro Console after my old Premium 20gb DVD gave up the ghost. It took about 2 weeks to arrive, but I can confirm it works

Excellent thanks, I don't see why MS don't include the Migration cable with the 60's to be honest, it's kind of annoying having the drive and not being able to use it

Once Pike has finished with the disc and sent it me back, I'll set up a thread specifically for the 60gb HDD. However if it gets too busy, then it might end up quicker ordering one from MS directly

MS should put an ISO image of the data transfer CD on their website.
I very much doubt the image would be very big.
It'd be a lot easier for those who already have the transfer cable rather than wait for a new version of the software itself.
I'm toying with the idea of getting a 60GB HDD for mine now that we can run games from the HDD with NXE, however, I lack the patience to wait 1 - 2 weeks just for the software.

I also can't understand why MS don't just put the migration kit in with the 60GB.
It's obvious that a lot of people will want to upgrade from 20GB to 60GB.

I don't see the appeal of the whole installing to HDD, the performance benefits are minimal and you still have to put the actual disc in, only real reason I got my 60GB is for DLC and Rock Band content.

I'm on the phone to xbox (first time i've rung them). I found it amusing to hear that start up noise now - i'm currently on hold.

After a very long winded conversation with Max the computer i've got through to someone and now I'm on hold. She has to talk to her supervisor about sending me a migration kit for free because I don't have 2 xboxes.

Oh dear she's making convo with me! This is so weird - i have to wait for a request number so she starts her "lets talk" script: "what kind of games do you like playing", "what is the latest game you bought", "do you prefer xbox live or single player" *cringe*

Okay - they said yes even though she had to speak to her manager about it. 10 - 15 days wait.
