Might be better asking this in here, since I am pretty sure it is an issue with windows/drivers and not the superhub/hard drives etc. :p

Yesterday I got a SSD and did a fresh install of windows. On the previous hard drive/windows 7 installation, I was not getting any higher than 30MB dll on a 60MB connection via the superhub wireless (got 60MB via a wired connection though) and it is also the same for my brother's PC, however, after doing a fresh install of windows yesterday, I am now getting 60MB wireless with the same adapter.

Any ideas what was causing the "hold back" for dll speeds within that windows installation.

My brother doesn't want to do a fresh install just yet especially if this can be fixed with a few clicks.

Always thought it was just a problem with the superhub, but obviously it isn't :p

Sorry should have made my last post a bit clearer/more detailed :o :p

I have the above linked adapter and he has a different one (some US robotics adapter) so the drivers etc. are different for each adapter. He has the latest ones installed for his adapter. I am pretty sure that I had the same drivers installed before and after the clean install.

Have compared all the settings we can think of but everything is the same.

I know, when I read the thread title I thought who the hell is monitoring the size of their DLLs :o

What's your brothers PC OS?

hehe :p sorry :o

Windows 7 ultimate 64 bit, same as mine.

Most of the hardware is the same

- mobo
- gpu (4850)
- CPU (i5 750)

The only components, which are different is the RAM (both on 8GB though), hard drives (he doesn't have a SSD).

He also gets 60MB when hard wired to the superhub.

Ok after much research tonight, we think we know what the problem is/was with the 30MB limit on both my PC and my brother's.

Simply put, the wireless adapter isn't "N" capable. USR 5421 adapter (which I previously had before my Tp-link adapter) :o :o :o

He is connected via 802.11g and I am connected via 802.11n.

It was just baffling how I wasn't getting the 60MB speeds with my wireless N adapter before the fresh install of windows, so I am guessing that there must have been a driver or something left over from the US 5421 adapter that was holding me back (despite being uninstalled etc. before I connected the TP-link adapter.......)

Sounds plausible, tbh it was one of those things that was tough to diagnose without being there so glad you've put your own mind at ease!
