60mm travel hardtail for Reds @ Hamsterley

I'm trying to convince a friend that she'll probably struggle with a whole 60mm of travel on the reds at hamsterley. She doesn't want to be told.

Am I being a ****, or is she?

She'll probably be able to ride a Red trail quite happily on 60mm of travel...(give that she's not Rachel Atherton or is.... umm) I'd personally rather ride it on 160mm of travel but thats the point...

Well I'm not sure. It's a Forme Sterndale 4000 she's looking at, whatever that is.
I know I REALLY struggled on my rockhopper (because i'm ****, probably) but then it did have completely awful pedals that my feet slipped off, and brake discs that were covered in brake fluid due to split calipers or something, which really didn't help

should be ok but just have to be more careful. I managed all the 7stanes red runs on a shagged kona caldera with about 1" travel up front left, was an ebay special bike when I was getting back in to biking a few years ago. Some of the Welsh trails where pretty painful though when they did the rock slabs sections.

My mate leaves everyone for dead at Hamsterley (and most other places for that matter!) on his 0mm travel Stooge, as long as you're not doing Descend or the 4X track it'll be perfectly fine - http://stoogecycles.co.uk/framesets/
