6100 BD upgrade?

I've had a system upgrade.

Amd 6100BD, Sabretooth board, 2Win460 EVGA card, 8 gig ddr3. Managed to clock the 6100 to 4.2 on air max temps 55 degrees. Is it worth getting an 8 series chip for gaming or indeed a pile driver 6350?

Battlefield 4 seems a bit sluggish on high settings. Ok on medium, the 2win is meant to be 2 460's which I thought with the clocked chip would be fantastic. It runs great on BF3 and Crysis 3.

So upgrade chip or not?

Wait till after the beta to be honest, it's an oldish build.
I don't rate your CPU, but I'd at least wait until you use a retail build before deciding.

Although I'd probably just get an FX8320 anyway.

The 6100 is a bit rubbish. Did you just buy it?

The 8320 would be the best and with the sabertooth motherboard you will be able to oc it to a respectable level spme where around 4.4Ghz would be a good place and will be able to come with most things for a decent amount of time.

Yes, I got the chip and the board for a good price off a mate. It seems ok at 4ghz.

isnt the 6100 a bulldozer chip ?

id be looking at getting a piledriver chip, super strong, and if you go for the 6300 you can clock them to the sky.
