Inb4 child killer etc. I know I'm an idiot.

Whats the likelihood of being offered a Speed Awarness course for 63 in a 50?

Dual carriageway (A14) that has temporary speed limits in place due to works. Also have a clean license and haven't been on the course before

1.1.6. The thresholds under which the courses will operate have been laid
down by ACPO and are at the prosecution threshold of 10% +2 mph to
a maximum of 10% +9 mph over the statutory limit. However it is a
bandwidth within which a police force may consider diverting an offender
and this does not remove local decision-making using the attendant
circumstances which may well warrant an alternative method of disposal,
such as taking no further action, a warning letter, conditional offer a
fixed penalty, or summons.
Looks like you should be in the bracket, doesn't look guaranteed and I don't know if this is the most up to date guidance.

They gave me a ticket for 33 in a 30 some time ago, unlucky for them they filled the ticket in wrong so got my license and fine back, bhwahahahhaha take that Rozzers :)

Does it make any difference nowadays if u get the speed aware course or 3 points? As I'm sure u have to tell your insurers now even if u only have to do the course so they can bend u over and give u the same good time they give to the 3 points customers by hiking your policy by 1/3

It doesn't ask the question if you've been on the course on comparison sites.
Haven't checked to see the damage 3 points will make to my insurance renewal next month

Seriously?! 33 in a 30 and someone gave you a ticket for that?

Yep, I wasn't impressed.

There was a "community speed guy" out with the Copper so I think he felt pressured into giving me a ticket, I actually think he might have deliberately "spoiled" the ticket though as I think he thought a ticket for 33 in a 30 was over zealous.

While I was on the speed awareness course, one of the guys gave this bit of advice:

A question about whether you've attended the course may appear, but they would have no way of checking whether you have or not.

I was always under the impression you was allowed 10% for speedo deficiencies.
