Hi, I am a noob to computer and just follow other threads, picking these stuff for myself. have been using a laptop for 2.5 years and cant stand it anymore.

I dont plan to overclock it, happy to leave the CPU running peace and quite. Mostly I would use it for internet, movie(watching but not editing), some office software(Mapinfo, infowork, office access etc.) I would like to play some 3D game on it but dont want to rush to DX 10 card at the moment (if really need one can buy it later). BTW, I think will still use XP for a while, maybe vista later.

Please check to see if all the parts are work together. If there are anything need to change, let me know.

Thanks in advance!!

Hi Stickroad, any reason for that PSU?

I thought it is a "default" to have a nice CPU cooler which is good for the CPU. I am not a computer guy, so if not plan to overclock it, should I just use something cheaper or maybe the stock one?

cheers

Nice; more or less what I just bought, although I went slightly cheaper with the processor! I would recommend the Corsair 520W power supply though. They are apparently just really reliable, and everyone around here gives them rave reviews. They are also quieter than the OCZ. Also, as already mentioned, drop the Tuniq if you arent overclocking. You may want to rethink the RAM too. Have a look at the Crucial Ballistix PC5300 stuff, that gets recommended to me wherever I go. If you want something faster, go for Geil's ultra low latency-its about £15 more, but you can easily recoup that by dropping the cooler!

Thanks manic111 and everyone. I have changed the PSU and RAM as you guys advised. So how does it look now? If everything is fine then I am gonna place order. :D

Yes, I've got XP.

One more thing, I will add "Linksys WMP55AG Dual-Band Wireless A+G PCI Adapter" to my basket as the router is in the other room. :)
