Most of you will have seen screenies etc of this cpu at various clockspeeds over the past month (and you're probably beyond caring now...)
However, pretty chuffed with this OC. It's not on high end kit (excluding ram...) sub 100 quid mobo (P5B "vanilla") cheapest core2 duo (~ 110 quid) and a basic waterloop. It goes to show you don't have to spend out heaps of cash to bag yourself a really nice OC from a Core2.
With a decent CPU and a few hours is all you really need to get a stellar overclock.
With the voltages/clockspeeds run you'd probably get away with higher end aircooling. Water temps weren't massive touch above ambient maybe.

2 Shots just to verify voltage :)

She'll go further. Can run pi @ 3.9(ish) ghz on the same voltage, so sure there's plenty more in the cpu. Just need to get more speed outta the mobo and ram.

Very nice overclock there. I had to laugh at the
Bit of luck,a decent CPU and a few hours is all you really need to get a stellar overclock.
bit as its hardly that tbh and its a little misleading to others imo. 99.9% won't get anywhere near that on that kinda voltage.

3.7 out of a 6300 is more than a 'little luck' and you have to be EXTREMELY lucky to get a cpu that good.

Congrats on being 'very lucky' tho ;)

Edited first post mate sorry for misleading people, that wasnt the intention.

Water setup is just a basic res -> Eheim 1250 -> DD TDX -> BIX 120.1 -> res.
Adding a GPU in probably wouldnt affect the temps too much, another rad possibly maybe necessary for a higher end GPU but shouldn't really be too much of an issue. Water temps as mentioned were a little over ambient.
Can bung an X1800XT in the loop and re-test if you'd like?

Mate that is an awesome overclock! Just outta interest, what week processor was it? Each week tends to be slightly better/worse doesnt it?

L628B. One of the best core2 steppings out there.

mine is a L629B405 and it does 560fsb(3.9ghz) i have a cpuz shot but i need to tweak the settings to get it stable, probs not possible till i get my h20 set up.

http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc?id=139796

it will run at 3.7ghz too stable at 1.45vcore.i got 15.87 secs on pi 1m.

i run it at 3.4ghz(490fsb) for 24/7 tho'(till the h20) at 1.3vcore with temps at 27-29c idle and 45c max.freezer 7 pro ***

Nice cpu you got there, very nice :D Should fly under water :D

nice, what was your vcore in the bios for that?.

nice ram you have too.mine dont really like running at 560.most its really been happy at is 1090.

vCore (via DMM) was 1.42 load.
Bios doesn't really relate to what's actually set due to vCore mod on the board.
Bios was set to 1.4625 which gives ~ 1.53 idle vCore. This drops (lovely droop on this board) to ~ 1.42 load under pi, full loading of both cores and you're talking under 1.4v.

Damn thats quick. Im jealous , oh so jealous. Really, well done mate thats a pretty amazing feat.

I second what Alec said , id buy you a pint anyday.
