I have reseated the HSF like 8 times and am now using a termaltake compound which seems to work best but my idle is 42.5/[email protected] and its 53/48C at 288FSB idle?.

Mind you these stock HSF are ok as long as you get a good seat. Also the clips can feel tight one second then pop up again the next :(

Should I be worried about theses temps for such a small over clock?

If anyones got a P5B Deluxe mobo a wouldnt mind them taking apiccy (or text would do) of there bios Jumperfree screen so I can match mine. Im setting PCIE fequence to 100Mhz, PCi 33.33Mhz and FSB 288. mem timings are on auto cus im having such a lousey time with temps..

Boohoo any help please, I was hoping to hit 2.6Ghz on stock :(

Oh modo temp is 24C Stable (is this good?)

Way too hot those temps am only getting 35cish @ 2.8 on my 6300 but i have the Tuniq Tower 120 which has far better style fitting.

whats your load temps at stock and overclock and are you using TAT to monitor temps?

Stock 52C and Overclock 62C both on 100% load. Using TAT and CoreTemp both values are within 1C difference.

I think one of the clips on me hsf if faulty :( ordering artic pro 7 monday.

If do I need to remove motherboard to fit ap7?

my E6600 at 3.6ghz (iv lowered back to 3ghz cause 3ghz is more than enough)

idles at 27-29c and full load at 39 to 45c and thats with a fanless scythe ninja cooler.

;)

I'd get a Tuniq Tower not an ACF7 if I were you. ACF7 is good for the price, but if you have the money you do get what you pay for (e.g. pay more get more :p). Plus the Tuniq screws in, so you can make sure you're getting a good tight fit.

What stepping is your E6300? Mine's 29B, and ran at 50'c idle with an ACF7 Pro, I needed to lap the CPU and then use a credit card to make a stuuuupidly thin layer of thermal paste, and now my temps are about 40'c idle (still not great but definitely an improvement).

sorry for thread invasion but kinda piontless starting a new thread, im getting kinda worried now guys got an E6300 at 3.1 with ninja and 87cfm fan getting 68 load using tat thats on core 0 and core 1 is like 64 is this high?

Thats a good question because my core 0 is like 7C/10C higher than core 1??

I've just order and artic pro 7 cooling HSP should arrive tommorrow so i'll post temps :)

Although for the record at stock with my 8800GTS im getting:

192FPS CSS
128FPS FEAR
168FPS BF2
98FPS HL Lost Cost

All settings max so im chuffed to bits with the GFX card!

What CPU voltage are you running (actual bios set values please, CPU-z shows the wrong numbers). Can you also confirm the FPO/Batch number of your chips, some tend to run hotter than others anyway. This goes for op and other chap having issues with high temps.

Volts are all at stock, havent changed i.e AUTO in BIOS although maybe I should set these???

I grab the batch number this evening.

Volts aren't stock. AUTO doesn't = stock volts. Have a look in the hw monitor section of the bios, it's not going to be exact but should give a rough idea as to what voltage the CPU's running at :)

im running e6300 tuniq 120 tower with 2 120mm case exhaust fans pretty much touchin the heat sink one 2 sides (antec p180 ;))

iv overclocked it to FSB 3325.0 3.3 GHZ

idles at 20-25 35-45 under heavy load both cores working, super pi and prime95.

I need to clean up my CPU and have been using kitchen towel. Is there a cleaner I should use and if so what it it.

I havent been using anything but kitchen towel and basically scrapping the compound off ???

I used lighter fluid squirted onto a kitchen towel - works freakin wonders. But when you buy the lighter fluid, you have to make sure that it sais something like "ideal for lighters and cleaning" or something :) Also 'tis best to put a bit on something shiny like a spoon and watch it for a few seconds to make sure it evaporates and doesn't leave any residue behind!

But yeah, this "Ronsonol" Lighter Fluid that I've got does the job well :D

James,

Would you say that the case and the Tuniq tower are Ok together? I'm looking to use these together and am wanting to get a good, stable, 24/7 overclock while keeping noise to a minimum.
