Hi just got this cpu and so far have it clocked at 2.24 gig, now what sort of program would i use to make sure its all ok ? i have heard a lot say about prime but aint got a clue what i am meant to do with it any help would be good.

It ran for 8 hrs last night with no problems may try boosting speed up abit today, now i got the trouble battlefield 2 just kicks straight to desktop when i try and load a mp server.

I will try that thanx, i also saw a few threads on here about installing amd's dual core optimiser should i do that ?

Oh i thought people were using it as it helps out with gaming on dual core systems ?

I not had any problems with bf2 since i put the ram voltage up slightly as said above, seems nice and stable was just on bf2 for a good 30 mins and no probs.

Stock is around 36/37 on each core today, load temps went upto 41/42c on the 2 cores thats ok i guess its a 2.3 gig atm.

Thats more the 1.3 patch , but all that be sorted as the 1.4 patch is out on tuesday.

I played the 1.4 beta 1 and 2 for a few weeks and it was great, no crashes at all, no server cashes and the infantry only option for servers was great fun.

I know a chap that works for intel in Oregon, sent me a pic of his workbench shich must be 20 conroe chips there that he tests etc, lucky git.

I ran that prime last night and woke up too a beeping sound, it had stopped the test and core 2 was red in the option, now i guess that means its not stable does this mean i have to add more volts too the cpu ? i only had it clocked at 2.3 gig.

I could do with some advice on ram, atm i have G.Skill LA pc 5300 in 2x1 gig sticks, now me bro has this GeIL 1GB (2x512MB) PC6400 800MHz Ultra Low Latency DDR2 which i can use if i wish.

What will give me the best performance in gaming, i imagine i will get poor performace only using 1 gig but will the 800mhz be better than 667 as i on now.

I dropped the ram too 5300 and clocked up from there, currently hit 700mhz on the 667 and 2.45 clock, i can't lower the latencys on this mobo so the other option may be the ram i posted above.

My concern is gaming wise though as i would drop too 1 gig instead of 2 for the time being.
