64 bit issues with CPU's

I’ve had problems lately with certain CPU chips not accepting 64bit vista…

Any1 know if the Pentium Dual Core E5400 will accept 64 bit vista.

Yes, that CPU is 64 bit architecture

All Intel Core 2 Duo chips will accept a 64-bit OS.

The only ones you might have trouble with, or won't perform correctly are Pentium dual cores when the extensions were a bit of an afterthought. Any Core 2 or newer should be fine as already said.

Just to clarify that Alex is referring to the Pentium D series here. The Current line of Pentium Dual Core should be fine.

(Am I right in that, that is what you mean Alex?)

Yes, Pentium D with the older P4 architecture, not the newer one. It all gets a bit confused!
