64-bit or 32-bit Xubuntu...?

I'm about to start re-installing my Xubuntu install as I've upgraded my PC. In the past I didn't have a 64-bit CPU so didn't have to worry about which version to go for. However. now I've got a 64-bit compatible chip, I'm thinking I should go for the 64-bit version of Xubuntu over the 32-bit one.

Will I see any real difference over the 32-bit version (which I was very happy with)..? Am I likely to experience any issues - kinda like the Windows users who can't necessarily find 64-bit drivers for everything?

A lot of people, including myself, cannot get a splash screen to work in 64bit *buntu. If when you boot the CD the installation just appears to hang with a black screen you will need to edit the CDs boot options by removing "quiet splash" in favour of "nosplash". The install itself will then work fine. When the install is finished you will need to make that change permanent in your chosen bootloader.

64 bit *buntu works great though apart from that, and that bug does seem to effect only some people with certain hardware setups.

I use 64-bit on some of my machines and I really can't notice the difference. Everything seems to Just Work, even the autoinstaller for the Flash plugin in Firefox. Presumably it's 32-bit Firefox.

That said, unless you have a need to address more memory, or an application you want to use requires a 64-bit OS (as is my situation), I see no compelling reason to switch and have to deal with any potential headaches that may arise.

I get slightly better performance with apache under 64-bit version over 32-bit, but it's a slight difference, that's with an Athlon 3800+ dually core. I will end up adding more ram, and I guess it will fly then, but at the moment, I can't really tell much difference. flash plugin is sorted now, but that was borked for a while, and my problem is with restricted mode nvidia drivers not working - but I don't really care!
