Hi,

Will 64 bit vista have problems running many applications.

For example, will I have more problems running applications / games using 64 bit, than I would using 32 bit?

Thanks

from what I understand you will have many issues with software unsigned to run as 64bit and vista will not run the software so you are better off with 32bit but maybe someone else can clarify.

The vast majority of 32-bit applications will run on 64-bit Vista. Most issues will arise from driver problems as you need a completely new set. Fortunately there are quite a few 64-bit vista drivers out there.

WoW64 makes sure that 32-bit programs will run on 64-bit.

If it doesn't work on 64-bit, it probably won't on 32-bit either, although there are some small exceptions.

All this change to Vista seems quite scary what with lack of drivers for graphics cards and whether to go for the 32 or 64 bit version etc.

Hope someone produces a sticky with what works with what and download sites for vista drivers for sound, video, printers and motherboard drivers.

The driver situation will be greatly improved come the actual release date. Your all forgetting that technically this is still an unreleased OS. Most companies working on drivers wont have schedualed driver release until the OS is released.
