I have an MSDN account and I noticed there was Window XP 64-bit available. Is it worth changing to this as I need to format my machine? How is the driver support?

Driver support will depend on your hardware.

I wouldn't bother myself.

There are a few threads on XP 64bit, probably worth having a search.

Sigh.. No it's not.

It is if you need to ask. Games/encoding apps dont take advantage of it for a start, in fact there isnt much that does desktop wise making it useless for 95% of computer users.

... but that's nowhere the tripe of a sweeping statement you came out with.

For a start, Farcry has a 64bit patch and there are 64bit encoding apps available (even the 32bit ones get a speed boost in XP64).

To be honest I've always found the x64 variations to be much more responsive, espcially when combined with a decent amount of ram. Shame the drivers where somewhat lacking, but they've come on in leap and bounds recently. Also a shame that adobe and sun dont have x64 versions of flash and java....Grrr!
