Im currently building my first rig, have most parts already set up.
But the one thing i cant decide is 2gb ram with 32bit vista or 4gb with 64bit!

I use my computer for gaming, web design and a bit of flash/photoshop.
Wondered if 64bit and 4bg ram would be better for my needs?

Also wondering if ill just be making life difficult since 64bit drivers are harder to come by?

Most of the hardware I'll be using is newish, so isn't as much of a worry. but my modem is a bit old (speedtouch330) i found a site with supposed drivers here : http://www.64bitdrivers.com/driver.php?id=1324

Wondered if anyone knew if these were reliable?

Thanks in advance.

get 4gb ram, and use vista 64

buy an adsl router, so you can do away with dialing up (they're easy to setup, and you connect to the internet via a network cable to the router that way), a router is far safer than normal dial-up :)

just get home premium 64, ultimate is a waste of money

although i'm not sure about the modem issue, i would say go 64 bit as the increased amount of ram it can address may benefit you when dealing with huge image files and other possible high ram demanding tasks.

also 64 bit will allow you to have up 16GB of RAM (using ram kits available on ocuk today) provided you have the money and MB supported it

i've just gone from 2 to 6gb of ram and changed from vista 32 to 64 bit and it's been pretty painless, everything is well, it'll deffinately help for gaming, i was really starting to struggle with vista with 2gb.
