I was planning on building a new machine using the following:

But after downloading and reading the user manual of the P5E have noticed that the P5E doesn't like RAM made from 128Mb chips. I'm a bit stuck, any help would be much appreciated. :)

I'm planning on having 8Gb in total, the cheaper the better :D

I don't think they would if they're 2gig sticks, but often the warnings in those manuals are exaggarated to the max anyway, there are so many "don't do this" stickers in my P5B-E manual that it's insane.

In your mb manual will be a QVL, this will list specific part codes, as well as an updated list on ASUS's website. You could check using that, as some ram kits dont work if using all 4 dimms, some only 2 sticks in 1 set of slot and vice versa... It got me sort of worried but im just gonna bite the bullet and see with my mb.

Good advice but the QVLs for most MOBOs (all brands, not just ASUS) are out of date and incomplete. Memory makers typically have the most complete and up to date lists.

Have completely changed my mind now and am getting the following:

My Mum owes me some money and has offered to get my bits and pieces for my new machine when she's back from holiday next week but I keep on changing my mind every five bloody minutes lol :D

*Tries to resist the urge to change his mind yet again*
