Hi Guys,

Looking at a 4gb kit for an upgrade. I have a q6600 and an Asus P5W DH mobo and want to experiment with some overclocking.

My question is:

Should I go for a pc2-6400 kit with lower latencies or a pc2-8500 kit with more clocking potential? it seems natural to assume the 8500 is the better option, I only as as it seems a lot of people on these threads seem to be running 6400.

I will probably go for the Corsair XMS2 Dominator as my 8500 kit of choice...not sure on the 6400.

Thanks in advance for the advice!

But I assume if I went with the 8500 kit it would perfrom just as well and be that little bit more future proof?

It gives you more memory bandwidth...so personally I would go for the 8500 as Core 2s bum memory bandwidth over latencies.
