6400 RAM running @ only 400MHZ on P35-DS

Guys, whatever you do, always renember: ddr= double data rate.

What you see in cpu-z always has to be multiplied by 2.

ie. 400 = ddr800 speed...

Almost any high performance ram needs more volts then the automatic 1.8 volt, set it manually to 2.1-2.2 volts.

The ram divider is how fast the ram runs compared to the front side bus, ie. on fsb:ram = 4:3 the ram runs on 3 mhz if the fsb runs on 4, ram 6mhz if fsb at 8 mhz, same calculation for any other divider.

Thanks :) - so the MHZ of the RAM isn't a problem anymore, just need to get the timings/voltage sorted.

Running at 4-4-4-12@800MHZ with 2.1v now. Seems to be running good so far. I will run ORTHOS tonight :)

Would there be any point in trying it at 4-4-4-12 with 2.0v or maybe even 1.9v to decrease temps? Or wouldn't it make much difference?

Although, as said above the RAM is rated 1.9v->2.3v so I seriously doubt it'd overheat on me, especially in my cool PC-7B ;)

Thanks all,
Craig.

Not really, temp's aren't an issue on those volts, got my RAM @ 2.3 volts while its rated 2.1, to ensure stability above stock speeds ( mine are on a mild overclock while keeping tight timings.).
