Anyone know where I can find a deb for Ubuntu 7.10 x64 Sun Java Plugin? I prefer a deb to a manual install.

Cant find anything in Synaptic.

JRE isn't open source and even though it's free it comes with a license, so you won't find any .debs or .rpms for it. Manual install is the only way, I'm afraid.

Sorry, my bad. So they provide RPMs, but no DEBs. Poor *buntu users. :)

However, to answer Rich's question, there's no 64-bit browser plugin for Java yet (as is the case for the Flash plugin). If your browser is 64-bit you can install the 32-bit plugin and use it with nspluginwrapper or you can install a 32-bit browser and the 32-bit plugin (this is the setup I have at the moment on Fedora 7)
