2, I am running a 64bit 3200+ would it be ok, just to swap the processors over or would I need to do anything else?

3, How good is my motherboard rated? Is it crap or is it fairly decent? Dont abuse me just asking. Im sure its nothing compared to what you lot run, but I wanna no it'll cope!

4, Wise to uprate the cooling fan from the stocker amd one?

Thanks in advance!

Welcome to the forums :)

the board will support a x2 cpu no problem

when I installed mine I took out the single core cpu installed the x2 cpu booted up all done

I was running XP pro and had no problems, OcUK have the awesome DFi Ultra D board for £70.44 which is amazing for one of the best boards on the 939 skt

as for the cooler maybe a Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 Pro CPU Cooler

which is cheap and is much better then the stock cooler

That board is OK. It should support X2 with just a straight swapover. You might want to install the dual-core optimiser from AMDhere.

The stock AMD cooler is adequate, but you could get better cooling and less noise by buying a good third-party one. I have an Akasa EVO 120, which I think is outstanding, but the Freezer Livestrong mentioned is cheaper and still very good.

The white board you mention is it the Sapphire one. It is based on the original ATI mobo chipset, not the new better performing chipset.
