So later today I will be going to Richer sounds to choose one. THe problem is I can't decide. I think both Tv's look great and I thought the black level was on another level compared to the Samsung. Having said that I like the high contrast of the Sammy compared to the LG. Now this could be down to the way it has been setup.

My primary usage will be a 50/50 split of watching 4k movies and playing games. A concern of mine is the input lag of 4k hdr gaming on the LG. The Tv will be used in a room which is neither bright nor dark.

I have read a few of the user comments of the B6 in this section but have read very little on the ks8000 on these forums. I would like to get more info before going in there later today for example any thing which users dislike about their set.

LG have announced they will firmware update the 2016 LGs to improve input lag.

However, the price difference between the 65KS8000 and 65 B6V OLED is £800

You could actually save £400 more and get a KS7000 which has the same panel as a KS8000.

I was in Richersounds at the weekend and walked away with the OLED55B6V. I looked at the Samsungs and they appear to have brighter, more lush colours but once you actually take it off "super bright demo mode" and stick a film on the OLED destroys it for accurate picture quality.

Or have a look at the Panasonic 902 range of LED's. I've had mine for a week and I'm absolutely stunned by the picture quality. It's a completely backlit led screen and the blacks are on par with the LG although comparing both, I found the blacks in the LG OLED were a bit too dark and any detail within the black was lost.

I was contemplating a Samsung screen but I'm not a fan of that artificial stupidly bright pictures.

That's a tough one man. I couldn't justify the price of the 65" LG given the input lag. Even if LG fix the lag with HDR, which they've promised but who knows what will happen, and bring it inline with SDR, it still isn't that impressive. Which leaves the Samsungs and I can't bring myself to spend serious money on an edge lit LED and all the issues that come with it. Currently the 65KS7000 as a tide me over might be the better option - it's what i'm leaning towards at the moment.

I'e been thinking about a new TV for awhile and have decided on the KS7000 versus OLED. Simple because, I do not have the money for OLED and the 55" KS7000 can be had for around 980 quid right now.

it will only be a stop cap TV till oled is cheaper\more main stream but I'm sure it will be a big upgrade from a 7 year old Toshiba (LG screen) that we have.

Likewise, I'm gagging to pull the pin on a 65" tv to replace my TX-P50V20B. The top end OLED look lovely, but for that kind of money I would expect them to be perfect, which they aren't yet. The only LED I would consider is the top of the line Samsung's with local dimming. The edge lit stuff just has to many niggles that would bug me after coming from a great plasma. The 9500 series look great but I don't want a curved TV.

Is a TV an investment?

OLED is fantastic, but I can see the logic behind going for something cheaper now, and potentially waiting for the next generation when cost is much lower. I did the same - it's why I have a 75" mid-range Sony. :p

Yeah, the KS9500 looks great, but is OLED money and still, despite all the stuff it brings, old tech. I'm going to likely play the edge lit lottery and keep returning panels until a good one turns up. I went from a Panny plasma to my current Sony LED and don't regret it at all. It took 3 panels to get there though! A decent KS7000 would be an excellent stop gap until OLED iron out the kinks and drop in price.

If an OLED screen isn't set up right then it can crush the blacks and lose detail, mine was like this at one point, but after calibration it looks amazing. The only downside is with a bad source it will look rough, Sky is awful and looks all blocky in dark areas, but blu-rays look incredible.
