So after helping one of my mates build a PC and move over to PC gaming another one wants to join in. He currently has a monitor/keyboard/mouse/speakers so we just need a base tower. He also has a spare Windows 8 upgrade key which he brought when it was £25 but never used.

I have put this together and just want too know if anything needs to change.

Cheers.

I'd swap out that old mobo for either the cheaper 970a ud3p (if not likely to Crossfire GPUs) or the more expensive 990fx UD3 (if Crossfiring is likely). They will both overclock better.

It's a good spec. Just wondering if this alternative might be worth considering, for upgrading (as things are limited with AMD processors in that respect):

Starts off with a 270X, which means dropping a level, but it's still a pretty good card, whilst getting sorted with a good Intel Z97 mobo and an i5-4670K.

Couldn't fit a cooler into your budget but one will be thrown in with those motherboard kits according to Gibbo. No idea how good it is, and there's also the stock cooler to do the job at first, if need be.

Note that the NZXT Hale 550W pushes up the shipping fee, which makes the SuperFlower 550W Gold worth getting instead (when on offer).
