£650 ish spec please

Hi all,

Im completely new to building a new PC from scratch. I have a buudget of around £650- £700 and i am after a PC for gaming.

I would like to be able to play the games out at the moment including most FPS.

Can someone please give me a good spec for this if possible in the budget i have as i dnt know what i need to get / buy.

Also is making your own PC fairly straight forward ?

PS I already have a monitor, Mouse, keyboard and all i need is just the stack.

Hi Mike,

650-700 is the perfect amount to spend on a new gaming rig! not to little to end up compromising the setup and not too much where you end up spend twice as much on a GFX card that gives just 20% more performance

I really dont think you could get a better gaming pc for the money, will you be running XP or blotted Vista?? if vista you may be wise to grab a bit more ram.

As far as buildin your own pc goes it really depends on your abilities, I dont think its at all hard if your methodical, read manuals and get your head round it before you jump in.

have a look at the following, if you're going to overclock may be worth getting an after market cooler for it like the tuniq.

as for building, take you're time, have plenty of space to work in, good lighting and read the manual .
