650D Fan Controller

Quick question for anyone who has bought a 650D recently, or any shop guys lurking...

Do 650Ds these days come with the new fan controller? Or do they just come with a fix kit and you have to email [email protected] to get the new controller?

For anyone who recently bought one the box should have -1 after the model number somewhere on the box.

Mine has the old controller and was bought last week. What's the quickest UK method of getting a new fan controller from them?

Email Redbeard and request one is pretty much the only way as far as I know.

What advantage is there (if any) in using the fan controller rather than connecting them to the motherboard?
