650D Fan Controller?

Went out for a sunday roast, come back to computer, Coretemp was reading 90'c (CPU load was like 2%), looked at my radiator fans, and they weren't moving!

Quickly put the fan controller to highest option and got it cool again.

Anybody else had issues with the Corsair 650D Fan Controller?

Depends on what fans you use. Certain fans will no longer be able to spin if you lower the voltage too low.

If the fans started working again when you put the fan controller on a higher setting, I suspect this is what the issue is...

You'll need to find out how much the voltage cut is with the fan controller, and what the minimum voltage your fans will spin on is.

My fan controller packed up month or 2 ago, only had the case 9 months.

Just have them (only using the stock fans) plugged into the MB now, not ideal but it works.

I haven't looked properly but I think the controller seems pretty well built in and therefore was in two minds whether to bother contacting Corsair as it may turn out to be a massive hassle if it ends up you having to send the whole case back...

Exactly my thoughts - after contacting both Corsair and the etailer I bought it from I decided it wasn't worth bothering with. You have to send the whole case back at your own expense, and it'll probably just break again anyway.

Good to know, I will not bother then.

Can anyone spec a decent fan controller? Something that blends in nicely and doesn't look like it should actually be in a 747's cockpit...

Case fans are all default plus H100 fans.

Fans will actually just stop working after roughly 3 hours. So I've had to set coretemp to shut PC down once temp reaches 60'c as I can't leave the PC on anymore..

Have contacted Corsair Support today and hoping for a reply soon!
