650ti boost or 7870?

It's still comparing against reference clocked 7850s Which nobody really sells. A maxed out 650ti Boost wouldn't match a maxed out 7850, but then the latter does cost more.

I believe clock for clock the 650ti is at least on a par with the 7850, therefore making the 650ti Boost better "bang for buck".

IMO the 650 ti Boost is the ideal budget card for people that want to play games at a maximum resolution of 1920x1080

I'd say that the 650ti Boost is the better buy if you don't want to try and overclock the card to its limits. The 7850 has the edge if you do that, but it needs its price dropping nonetheless to make it a better buy.

The 7870 (especially the LE version) is a good buy since its price has come down to £160ish.

The only other thing I'd say is that the Tahiti LE 7870 is a lot better (it's a slightly cut down 7950), and it can be found for about the same price as the MSI. Ocuk has the VTX3D one (which will mean a noisy cooler probably) but at a weirdly high price.
