Hi,

I am building the following spec:

Is the 750W overkill for this? All I will be adding is more harddrives + maybe a blue ray drive eventually. Would I be better just going with 650W and saving £20?

Im running whats in my sig on a enermax liberty 500W psu for a while now with no probs at all.

Id say 650 is more than enough.

Asus P7P55D Intel P55 (Socket 1156) DDR3 Motherboard
Intel Core i5 750 2.66Ghz (Lynnfield) (Socket LGA1156) - Retail
Corsair 4GB (2X2GB) DDR3 PC3-10666C9 1333MHz Dual Channel Kit
Club 3D ATI Radeon HD 5850 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card
Corsair H50-1 High-Performance CPU Watercooler
Coolermaster CM-690-II Advanced Dominator Case - Black

Corsair HX 650W ATX Modular SLI Compliant Power Supply

Just for your peace of mind this is the machine I've just built, slightly down specc'd from yours but is no way near to having issues so you should be fine!

I had chosen the non-modular 850w, until I realised there was actually no need for anywhere near that power, and never would be for my build, so went for the 650w modular, I ended up actually paying about 10pound more I think at the time, but I feel now I've made that decision no regrets :D

I am running

whats in my sig with a corsair 650w and according to the spec page they have where you can say what components your running it will run mega overclocks and everything you can throw at it except for 2x 8800GTX
