Why does CPU-Z say that I have a 6600 @ 2.4ghz and then lower down say that the core speed is 1.6ghz

When I installed mine last week, it did the same thing, so I checked speedstep, but it was already disabled. It was actually the C1E setting that I needed to disable, so I'd check that speedstep and the C1E settings are disabled.

Just noticed my ghz mhz error lol drink is evil boys and girls :P
How do I look up this speedstep thing and also C1E setting?

Sorry found the section in the bios i needed to look at
speedstep was disabled but C1E was enabled, so I have disabled that and now cpu-z reports the following

is this correct?

yep looks fine to me. In all fairness for average home user Speedstep and C1E would both be left on.. and a 680i is more of an enthusiasts board anyway ;)

And there was me thinking a £170 motherboard would set the x9 multiplier by default :o
