6600gt > 7800gt...... plus questions

Just grabbed myself one of these as it was a bargain at £184! (competitor) The questions are.... much of an improvement over my current card? What type of performance and settings will it give me on BF2? Oh and its a Pixelview version, will it have the fan speed bug?

A lot faster, at least 2x as fast.
other than terrain max it out with 4xAA and 16xAF sould run great @ 1280x1024

It's a fair old leap. I went from a plain 6800 (which is much of a muchness with a 6600GT) to a 7800gt and really noticed the difference. Now I can play FEAR at 1280x960 with more or less max settings.

Should be safe from the fan speed bug as it will probably be an Nvidia reference design not an aftermarket revision like the ones that have exhibited the problem. If you like your peace and quiet you might want to budget for a zalman or Artic cooling solution!

cool! thats what ive just done with my 6800gt agp ->7800gt pcie.Get it on wednesday.Should be fun to see what it does
