6600GT dead?

I was having random crashes, no BSOD, just a blank screen not solved by a hard reset. They started getting worse and I've pinned it down to the graphics card: when it won't start (which is most of the time now) there is no POST beep. When you pull the card it gives a beep so I'm pinning the blame on that. Unfortunately my spare machine is my server and I can't test to be sure.

I'm quite sure that's the issue (unless anyone has any other ideas!) but now I'm worried that the warranty will be affected by me putting a Zalman cooler on it, plus I think I've chucked the stock one. Have I broken the warranty? Thanks.

Cyber-Mav is right, it's unlikely that a retailer or manufacturer will accept the return of your card under warranty unless it's in the original condition.

You could try Members Market to see if anyone has a spare stock cooler which you could re-fit so you can RMA the card. Out of interest which manufactuer is the card made by?

Give it a try anyway.I once returned an out of warranty MSI card with a different cooler on it and they sent it back to me saying that because it had been modded they will not replace it.I then sent them an email stating that i had to change the cooler because it became faulty.They replied and said ok send it back to us for replacement,and it was 4 months past the warranty.
