hi there

i have a 6600gt, xp2000, 1gig geil.
when i do the stress test in cs source i get some strange results as follows:

800x600 everything turned off 51fps
1280x1024 everything off 52fps
800x600 recommended settings 47fps
1280x1024 recommended settings 48fps

does this information mean my cpu is the bottleneck here, obviously the higher the resolution id expect the fps to be lower, but as thats not the case i thought id ask here before i upgrade for nothing.
im thinking of getting an a64 3700, am i likely to see my fps shoot up at 1280x1024

cheers

Looks like textbook CPU limitation there, especially with the AXP2000+

A 3700+ would send those FPS through the roof :)

thanks for that, at least i know my gfx card should still have a bit left in it then
