Hey Guys

I just had a 6600gt (AGP) blow up :( and I need a replacement, ive been "out of the game" for a bit and were wondering if anyone could suggest a viable replacement. im looking to spend upto £100.

Cheers :)

I upgraded to the leadtek 7600GT, it's a bit more money that your budget, but as far as AGP goes i'd say it's your only route, unless you can find a seller on Members Market with a 6800GT or equiv at sub 100..

ditch the pentium for AMD64 or C2D, socket 939 can be had for next to nothing these days, C2D for a fair lump more, plus you'd need new ram as well

Get either a 6800GT or GS (try and unlock the pipes) with a decent heatsink, and overclock. I did that and the difference from a 6600 GT is very noticeable.

Performance

The X1600XT from ATi ?

If you can push to £180 then the Ati x1950Pro is probably the card you want, but its almost double your budget.

Edit : the 7600GS from BFG is a better deal and comes in at £105 incl VAT right here at OCUK, I checked out the benchmarks and the 7600GS really seems to be the best bang for buck in your price range.
