6600GT replacement

In a second machine I have (C2D e6600, 4Gb RAM, Vista 64bit) the 6600 GT is showing its age.

I need a replacement, normally I would just by the fastest card available but with this machine a 8800 GTX or the 3870x2 is overkill as the LCD runs at 1366 x 768.

The machine is used by the other half with CoD 4 being the most demanding game at the minute.

I have been looking at the 3870, price and performance wise I think that is the best balance.

So a 3870 or not ?

It is a 480w Enermax.

I whacked a 3850 into mine with a 480W Tagan PSU and older Athlon 64, worked a treat

Price performance is the best for 3850512/3870 and 9600GT.

I'd get a 3850 if the most demanding game is COD4 @ 1366x768.
